$7500 Home Buyer Tax Credit

The Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008 allows first-time home buyers, and any other home buyer who has not owned a home during the past three year, to take up to a $7500 tax credit from the purchase of a single-family home. The tax credit is available on homes purchased after April 9, 2008 and before July 1, 2009. Learn more about the highlights and details of this important tax credit with your local builder, or at this National Association of Home Builders website: http://www.federalhousingtaxcredit.com.

ENERGY STAR AWARD AGAIN!

The Commodore Corporation is proud to announce for the second straight year a top award by the Environmental Protection Agency for building ENERGY STAR® homes. In April 2008, we were awarded the ENERGY STAR Leadership in Housing Award, following our selection last year as the ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year for 2007 - New Homes. Our Commodore Homes of Pennsylvania and Colony Factory Crafted Homes divisions have become the leading builders of ENERGY STAR qualified homes in the northeast. Compared with standard homes, ENERGY STAR qualified homes use substantially less energy for heating, cooling, and water heating. The typical household can save up to 30% on its energy bills while improving home comfort and helping the environment.

UNIVERSAL DESIGN FOR AARP

One of our Pennsylvania divisions, Manorwood Homes, has created several new Universal Lifestyle homes, meeting the diverse lifestyle needs of people in all stages of life. Manorwood's Universal Lifestyle home was the “featured home” on display at the 2007 National AARP® convention in Boston - literally built inside the convention hall. It was a great demonstration of the home, our commitment to livable homes, and our construction technology. Response was overwhelming, with thousands of people touring the home during AARP's national convention.
